On Flamingo Road, Cristina Raines played "saloon singer" Lane Ballou and in real life she dabbled in singing a bit. Here's a clip of her singing to Mark Harmon on Flamingo Road and hey, he seems to like it!

Cristina Raines, wearing a one-piece bathing suit, answers the telephone in this short clip from "Secrets," a 1981 episode of Flamingo Road. The first video is taken from the VHS sourced American TV version and the second is taken from a foreign language digital broadcast with the English audio grafted in.

In 1984, Cristina Raines appeared in the British film Real Life (also known as Livin' the Life). In this clip, the star of the movie, Tim (Rupert Everett), suddenly meets the mysterious Laurel (Cristina Raines) while working as a realtor. The pair go on to have a rather bizarre relationship.

Cristina Raines talks Lane Ballou

Here's a quick news item from early 1982 in which Cristina Raines discusses Lane Ballou, her character from the TV series Flamingo Road. Flamingo Road began life as a 1942 novel written by Robert Wilder and was made into a film in 1949. The article indicates that the Lane Ballou of the television show is more similar to how the character was portrayed in the book, rather than Joan Crawford's cinematic interpretation.
